Policy Guidelines

Defence Production Policy has been formulated based on the basic objective of achieving maximum self reliance in meeting the defence needs of our country. This policy not only encourages diversification of products by the concerned production establishments, but also permits/encourages them to utilize their surplus capacity to export their products to regional and friendly countries. All the Defence Production Establishments must pursue procurement, production, research, development and export activities based on the broad guidelines provided in policy document.
