Chairman PAC Kamra briefing to Federal Minister for Defence production, Rana Tanveer Hussain regarding performance and achievements in FY 2015-16

Chairman Pakistan Aeronautical Complex (PAC) on Monday briefed the Federal Minister for Defence production, Rana Tanveer Hussain regarding performance and achievements of Pakistan Aeronautical Complex (PAC) in the fiscal year 2015-16. The meeting was held in the Ministry of Defence production, Rawalpindi. Secretary Defence production and other high officials of the Ministry also attended the meeting.

The Minister received the in-depth briefing about the working of constituent factories of Pakistan Aeronautical Complex i-e Aircraft Rebuild factory, Aircraft Manufacturing factory, Mirage rebuild factory and Avionics production factory. Federal Minister took keen interest in the briefing and raised several questions to further improve and enhance the working of the PAC Kamra.

The Chairman PAC highlighted the achievements of Aircraft Rebuild factory, Aircraft Manufacturing factory, Mirage rebuild factory and Avionics production factory. He expressed that their technicians and engineers are working very hard and achieved the goals of fiscal year 2015-16. The chairman also explained about the assembling, rebuilding and manufacturing of Jf-17 and Mushshak in collaboration with China. The Minister for Defence Production expressed satisfaction with the progress of JF-17 and super Mushshak program. He praised the professional competence and commitment displayed by PAC personnel in meeting the milestones of JF-17 program and urged them to continue their best efforts in pursuit of excellence.

Air Marshal Arshad Malik Chairman Pakistan Aeronautical Complex (PAC) highlighted that with the help of highly qualified engineers and hardworking and skilled technicians PAC, Kamra has shown remarkable achievements in cost saving in the development of indigenous projects. Local value of the projects undertaken at PAC, Kamra was 615.567 Million USD, but if they were to be imported, the cost would have raised to greater extent. As a result PAC, Kamra has saved up to 1209.2 million USD. Thus PAC, Kamra is contributing by the annual saving of more than one billion USD for the national exchequer.

Chairman Pakistan Aeronautical Complex (PAC) briefed the Minister of Defence production regarding the importance of Vocational training institutes in order to make available properly skilled labour for industries like PAC. Minister has appreciated the idea and elaborated various steps taken by the federal and provincial government for development of vocational training institutes in the country. The Minister emphasized on the need of the sustainability and up gradation of the existing setups rather than creating new parallel systems.

Minister also stressed that our defense industry need to keep trying hard to manufacture and export products. Wherever the support of Ministerial level is required, he would go all out to help uplift the industry further. On the financial and budgeting issues, the minister assured his full support to MoDP’s industrial establishments.
