Lt Gen Muhammad Chiragh Haider, HI(M) (Retd) , Secretary (DP)

Lieutenant General (R) Muhammad Chiragh Haider, Hilal-i-Imtiaz (Military) was commissioned in Infantry Battalion in 1986. He is a graduate of Command and Staff College (Quetta), Australian Defence College (Australia), National Defence University, Islamabad and Marine Corps University, United States of America.

The General Officer apart from being on faculty of Pakistan Military Academy has held various staff appointments including Brigade Major Infantry Brigade, General Staff Officer Grade-I (Operations) Infantry Division, General Staff Officer Grade-I (Plans) Corps and Director Military Intelligence in Military Intelligence Directorate, General Headquarters. He has commanded a Mujahid Battalion in Mountainous region, an Infantry Brigade in Semi Desert & Western regions and an Infantry Division in Mountainous regions. The General has performed as Director General Military Training at General Headquarters and Director General Joint Staff at Joint Staff Headquarters. The General Officer has also served as Commander Southern Command and 2 Corps.

Before assuming the charge of Secretary, Ministry of Defence Production on 05 Mar 2024, the General Officer has served as Inspector General Training & Evaluation.
